San Jose, Calif. -- August 12, 2013 -- Nimble Storage, the leading provider of flash-optimized hybrid storage solutions, today announced that the company was ranked number four on LinkedIn’s recent list of the Top 10 InDemand Tech Startups Among Bay Area Engineers of 2013. This honor comes one month after being named a Top Workplace by The Bay Area News Group.

“Our goal is that everyone at Nimble has a rewarding experience, both from a career and a financial point of view. Therefore, our team keeps a strong focus on building a community that enables employees to foster an open and collaborative environment, feel empowered to take risks, and enforce our strict ‘no jerks’ policy when providing referrals for future employees,” said Varun Mehta, founder and vice president of engineering at Nimble Storage. “We are proud that the care we take in developing an innovative and collaborative workplace has driven recognition amongst the Bay Area engineers. Furthermore, approximately 80 percent of our engineering hires come through employee referrals, and recognition from our current employees is the biggest compliment we could hope to receive.”

Nimble Storage was founded in 2008 and started shipping product in August 2010. In less than three years since first shipping product, the company has grown to more than 450 employees and has offices worldwide. Nimble’s flash-optimized hybrid storage systems are engineered from the ground up for maximum efficiency by integrating the high performance of flash with the favorable economics of high-capacity hard disk drives. This hybrid solution provides adaptive performance and scalable capacity for storing and protecting critical applications such as Microsoft Exchange, Microsoft SQL Server, server virtualization, databases and virtual desktops (VDI). Nimble continues to rapidly build upon its hybrid storage solution success record and its reputation for being an innovative and disruptive alternative to traditional storage solutions. The passion and dedication the company has for its product has resulted in rapid customer adoption; the number of customers now surpasses 1,500.

“Bay Area professionals are increasingly choosing companies, not jobs. So, we strive to create a culture and a company that people will want to join,” said Paul Whitney, vice president of human resources at Nimble Storage. “We keep our finger on the pulse through constant contact with our employees and through professional social media sites, such as LinkedIn, to engage with potential employees and ensure they can obtain a true sense of our culture through rich content and discussions.”
